WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Boilermaker volleyball team is asking fans to join its fight against breast cancer by participating in Dig For A Cure night on Friday as the team takes on Michigan.
Fans are encouraged to wear pink to support the cause. A silent auction during the match offers an opportunity to support the cause financially. Donations also will be accepted, in either a per-dig format or a fixed amount. Donations as well as the silent auction, which will feature one jersey, two autographed pink warm up t-shirts and two autographed pink volleyballs, will take place at the promotions area in the southeast corner of Holloway Gymnasium.
In addition, the Boilermakers are collecting canned goods as part of a month-long "Cans for Cancer" initiative. The team hopes to collect more than 100 pounds of canned goods, which will be donated to a local food bank.
The No. 21 Boilermakers kick off the second half of the Big Ten season against Michigan (8 p.m. Friday) and Michigan State (7 p.m. Saturday). Friday's match will air live on the Big Ten Network, while Saturday's will be streamed live on BTN.com via Purdue All-Access.
