Throughout the 2007 season, the Boilermaker volleyball players will give an inside glimpse into their road trips. This week sophomore setter Sam Gray and freshman defensive specialist Jordan Fullove spill about the team's weekend trip to Ann Arbor, Mich., to face the No. 15 Michigan Wolverines.

It's Jordan's birthday!!!!

We are all excited about this trip this weekend. It's easier to carry a smaller bag when we only have one match. The flight to Ann Arbor was short, sweet and to the point. We were in Michigan before we knew it. It was good that there was no traumatizing turbulence. We had a great dinner at O'Charley's. Mostly because our table of Sam Gray, Jordan, Blair, and Carrie, was hilarious! Lots of fun. We were stuffed! Because we ate all of the appetizers we got before our meal, we barely touched our food, except for Jordan, she conquered all. But really, we had spinach and artichoke dip with chips, rolls, and soup, and then dinner. Jordan and I were roomies for the trip and after such a big dinner we were pooped, for lack of a better word. We watched some great television until we fell asleep. We always get to sleep in at least until around 9, but this time breakfast was at 9:30, so a great night of sleep was wonderful! During breakfast, many birthday wishes were spoken. Jordan's 19!!! WOW! Ha-ha.

The team spent most of the day relaxing and getting mentally prepared for the big match ahead. When it was game time, we were definitely ready to pull out a win, but we knew we would have to work our hardest and maintain focus. The match...was great. This weekend we played Michigan for third place in the Big Ten!! After losing to IU, our team definitely felt we needed this win to lift our spirits. We had a repeat performance from John, doing a crazy run down the sideline, a few controversial calls that we all went insane over, and of course, we won. We beat Michigan in four close games. It should have been in three games, of course, but we came back in the fourth, mad and ready to go, and we showed them what was up!

Jordan says gaining third place in the Big Ten was definitely the frosting on her birthday cake!

Happy Birthday Jordan! Great win in Michigan!

Boiler Up!!!
