WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - An all-star lineup of alumni put up a good fight against the 2013 Boilermaker roster, but came up on the short end of a 3-1 match. The current Purdue squad won the match 23-25, 25-23, 25-16, 25-16.

The alumni roster featured three All-Americans in setter Renata Dargan Vonesh and Jaclyn Hart Groves and middle blocker Stephanie Lynch Harpenau. Right side hitter Melanie Ukovich was in fine form on the outside, while Kristen Arthurs looked strong in the middle. Anna Drewry and Kelli Miller also supplied offensive firepower. Lindsay Shondell Morgan also filled in at setter and as a server, while a plethora of defensive dandies in Anne Mastandrea, Meghan McCormick, Lauren Berg and Amanda Miller made the Boilers work for every point.

Head coach Dave Shondell used the event to try out different lineups for his Boilermaker squad with the season opener against No. 4 USC looming just six days away.

The No. 16 Boilermakers open the 2013 season at 7 p.m. Friday when they take on No. 4 USC to wrap up Day 1 of the Mortar Board Premier.
