WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - As part of our countdown to the season, we will give you the inside scoop on one of our 16 players. With 18 days left until the home opener, we introduce junior Annie Drews, a 6-4 right side hitter from Elkhart, Ind.

A Fab 50 selection, a first team All-American and the No. 29 Senior Ace coming in to Purdue in 2012, Drews has lived up to the hype. She played in 29 matches as a rookie, starting 15, while racking up 2.14 kills et, third most on the team. The All-Big Ten Freshman team selection hit at a .291 clip and added 0.55 blocks per set.

In the summer of 2013, Drews sharpened her skills as part of the U.S Women's National A2 Program. She then posted 1.92 kills per set, while leading the team in blocks and kills three times each. She saw action in all 35 matches and excelled in the classroom as well, garnering Academic All-Big Ten acclaim.

Now a junior, the Elkhart, Ind., native will be looked to lead the Boilermaker hitting corps.
