For the seventh-consecutive season, Purdue is voted as one of the nation's top 25 volleyball programs in this year's AVCA Preseason Coaches Poll. The Boilermakers are ranked 25th heading into the 2017 season. This year's poll marks the 11th time in 15 years Dave Shondell's Boilermakers have been ranked heading into the season.
Purdue returns all but one of its starters from the 2016 season and welcomes five newcomers to the program. Erin Williams begins her junior season entering her first season as a Boilermaker after transferring from Loyola Marymount in the spring. Haley Bush, Caitlyn Newton, Jena Otec and Juliana Reisinger make up a freshman class that is ranked as the 20th best recruiting class in the nation by PrepVolleyball.com. Danielle Cuttino, Carissa Damler, Ashley Evans and Azariah Stahl will lead the Boilermakers as the four seniors on this year's roster.
Fans have their first chance to get a glimpse of the Boilermakers in action this Saturday, August 12 at 1 p.m. ET in an air conditioned Holloway Gymnasium. The Boilermaker Tune-Up is an intersquad scrimmage open to the public with free admission.
