WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Incoming freshman middle blocker Danielle Cuttino will be bringing some new hardware to West Lafayette after receiving a gold medal as part of the U.S. Women's Junior National team last weekend. The WJNT defeated Cuba 25-15, 25-22, 25-16 to earn the top spot at the U-20 NORCECA Continental Championships in Guatemala on Sunday.

The U.S. team defeated St. Lucia (25-5, 25-4, 25-3) on July 9 to begin play in Group C and advanced past to the next round with a 25-5, 25-21, 25-19 win over Mexico on July 10. Recaps of those matches are here and here.

Next up, the team faced the defending champion Dominican Republic in the semifinals on July 12, and posted a 25-16,25-20, 25-18 win to advance to the championship game vs. Cuba. A recap of that match is here.
