2010 NCAA Tournament First Round
Louisville vs. Middle Tennessee State
Belin Court at Holloway Gymnasium
West Lafayette, Ind.; December 3, 2008

Louisville Head Coach Leonid Yelin

Opening Statement
"I'm just excited. I'm very pleased with the way we've played. We know [Middle Tennessee State]. We've played three times in the last four years. I think all of our players did a great job. I'm very proud of them. They stayed with the game plan. I have to give Middle Tennessee State credit too. They changed up stuff. I'm very proud to be here."

On preparing for next match...
"Early in the season, we played both [Kentucky and Purdue]. We played at Kentucky, and played at home in the Big East/Big Ten Challenge. Purdue beat us really bad. But now, we are a different team, and I'm pretty sure Purdue is a different team now. They've already watched our match, and we're going to watch them too. It doesn't really matter who you play. You just have to play your best. Both teams are going to play to their best abilities."

Lola Arslanbekova, Sophomore Outside Hitter

On Louisville's blocking...
"I was just doing what the coach said. I just wanted to do my best."

Gwen Rucker, Junior Middle Hitter

On Louisville's momentum over the last several games...
"It's not so much of excitement and fighting, but more like a calm of emotion. We're calm, and we just play our game and go. We're not playing on so much emotion, like a 'one night, great game.' We're just trying to play volleyball."

Lindsey Mango, Senior Libero

On getting first her win over Middle Tennessee State...
"Going into the match, I was nervous about it because we've had a history with that team, especially the year before [my freshman year], the team also lost to Middle Tennessee. I reminded our team that we had to focus because of what has happened in the past. So, I was really nervous, but I think everyone handled it really well. I'm very proud of the way we played, and I'm glad that we've (moved) past that."

Middle Tennessee State

Middle Tennessee State Head Coach Matt Peck

Opening Statement
"We have played them twice in the NCAA Tournament in the past five years. We had a game plan and we stuck to it and we beat them. Today, we had a great game plan and couldn't execute it. Our ball control was shaky at first. We didn't make some very good decisions setting wise. We had things to do that they couldn't stop, but obviously we didn't do it enough. Stacy (Oladinni) had what I think was the best match of anybody on either team. We just went away from our game plan and had to worry about what was going on on our side of the net.

On the difficult NCAA draw...
"We all kind of thought the same thing like, 'What were they thinking?' There are other first and second rounds with teams with 160 RPI. It isn't even geographical because University of Tennessee and they are two and a half hours from us. Lipscomb is a half hour and Austin Peay is an hour. Geographically, it looks like we should be hosting. I think it is kind of funny that we have drawn Louisville three of the last five years. I don't know if that has happened anywhere else in the country. Naturally, they are going to beat us because they get used to our system. It is a little disappointing."

Stacy Oladinni, Junior Middle Blocker

On Louisville's blocking...
"They had a pretty big block out there. They moved well. As fast as we went, they were still able to get there and close and set a double block. I feel like we could have seen the block better, but it didn't happen and they were able to block us."

Maria Szivos, Junior Outside Hitter

On Louisville's blocking...
"They played hard and had good blocking. They pushed us and we just needed to do a better job."
