Meet The Team: Freshman Linnea Rohrsen

The defensive specialist is a speech, language & hearing sciences major who loves to cook and calls her game intense.

2016: Saw action in 28 matches, mostly as a serving specialist ... served up two aces, one each vs. No. 4 Kansas and Illinois ... made good on 33 of 35 serve receive chances, including a perfect 11 for 11 at No. 3 Nebraska ... registered 17 digs (0.27 per set), including season-best five at Iowa.

2015: Academic All-Big Ten ... saw action in six matches as a serving specialist ... recorded two digs at Ohio State.

2014: Saw action in nine matches, playing in 11 sets mostly as a serving specialist. Served up 15 balls without an error ... recorded one dig vs. No. 22 Ohio State ... handled lone reception attempt of the season at Iowa.

High School: An all-ESCC conference and Pioneer Press girls volleyball second team selection as a senior ... led team in digs as a senior, acting as libero and team captain, while earning all-tournament team honors at the Bradley Bourbonnais ... a three-year varsity letter winner ... played setter on the sophomore team her rookie season ... a three-year "A" honor roll member ... plays club volleyball for the 1st Alliance VB Club, which won the silver medal at the 2013 JVA World Challenge ... was named club Player of the Year and also earned a spot on the AVCA Phenom List in 2012.

Personal: Full name is Linnea Rohrsen ... born Feb. 9, 1996 ... parents are Jeff Rohrsen and Bernarda Wolf ... cousin Quinn Sypniewski played tight end for the Baltimore Ravens in 2006 and 2007 ... plans to major in speech, language and hearing sciences ... will face club teammate Katherine Mahlke when Purdue takes on Michigan.
