ATLANTA – After a spectacular showing at regionals two weeks ago, the Purdue women’s tennis team opted not to compete in last weekend’s Hoosier Invite in Bloomington, Indiana. Instead, the program enters its third fall tournament Friday, the Piedmont Invitational hosted by Georgia State.
Teams from Air Force and Chattanooga join the Boilermakers and Panthers in the two-day event, which features both singles and doubles matches. All of Friday’s competitions take place at the Sharon Lester Tennis Center at Piedmont Park, while Saturday’s matches will be held at Georgia State’s Clarkston Campus.
The weekend event is Silvia Ambrosio’s final appearance before traveling to California for the 2017 Oracle ITA National Fall Championships, Nov. 1-5. The junior transfer from Marquette earned her place in the national draw after finishing runner-up at regionals.
