WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Seniors Cigdem Duru and Brooke Beier won the flight A doubles title at the Virginia Team Invitational this weekend, as each accumulated 15 points based on their 2-1 record.

The veteran tandem combined to beat duos from Wake Forest and Virginia Friday and Saturday before falling to LSU's Megan Falcon and Hannah Robinson Sunday, 8-1.

Beier and Duru were awarded six points for each win and three points for their loss.

In singles, Stephanie Wooten placed second in flight B with 17 points. Freshman Joanna Craven was runner-up to Virginia's Maggie Yahner in flight C with 15 points.

The invitational's scoring system distributed points (for wins and losses) on a sliding scale to players bracketed in singles flights A-G and doubles flights A-D.
