Senior Hally Cohen Looks at Women's Tennis '97

As August and September rolls in, students are slowly shuffling back into their school routines. But, this is not the case for the Purdue women's tennis team. They are running back!

Conditioning began for the Boilers on Aug. 27. For two weeks the team varied its practices between Ross-Ade Stadium, Rankin Track and Field, the Varsity Tennis Courts and the weight room.

Now, as the team gets ready to pick up its rackets and take to the courts, it is in prime condition. Next week will be the first full week of official practice and the women are ready!

Even though the Boilers are anxious to get back on the courts, they are also looking forward to their next four-on-four soccer game. The two sophomores, Jennifer Embry and Shannon Taheny, along with juniors Katy Moran and Laura Avgerinos, look for revenge against the seniors and freshmen. Conditioning was strenuous, but it was also entertaining. by Hally Cohen
