Purdue Signs Touted Tennis Recruit
Purdue women's tennis coach Mat Iandolo announced the signing of Erika Quebe to a national letter of intent to play for the Boilermakers beginning in the fall of 1997.
Quebe, who hails from Indianapolis, Ind., will be a welcome addition to the talented Purdue team. She is a two-time runner-up in the Indiana state high school tennis tournament (sophomore and junior years) and is currently ranked 95th in the U.S. junior rankings. Prior to committing to Purdue, Quebe was considered one of the top eight prospects in the Midwest.
The Perry Meridian High School netter will join a team with tremendous talent and experience. Iandolo maintains, however, that she will be a key for Purdue's future success.
"Erika is an extremely talented baseline player who has just begun to play her best tennis," Iandolo said. "We see no reason why she will not continue to improve rapidly upon her enrollment at Purdue."
