WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- The return of the three-day Purdue Invitational in November after a one-year hiatus and the Zone C Diving Championships coming back to the Boilermaker Aquatic Center highlight the 2012-13 schedules for the Purdue swimming and diving teams, unveiled by head coaches Dan Ross and John Klinge.

Purdue will be serving as the host of the Zone C Diving Championships for the first time since 2005. The Diving Zones, of which there are five meets around the country each year, determine which divers advance to the NCAA Championships. The Zone C Championships are set for March 14-16, 2013.

Held annually in mid-November, the Boilers were unable to host the three-day, six-session Purdue Invitational in the fall of 2011. But the co-ed meet will return this year. At least five universities are expected to bring both men's and women's teams. The Purdue Invitational is set for Nov. 16-18, 2012.

The Purdue men and women will also compete together in co-ed home meets on Oct. 12 (intrasquad) and Oct. 20 (Indiana Intercollegiates). Both teams are scheduled to host rival Indiana at the Boilermaker Aquatic Center this year as well. The women welcome the Hoosiers to campus Jan. 26 and men do likewise two weeks later on Feb. 9.

The women also have home meets on Oct. 19 vs. Miami (Ohio) and March 2 when they host the annual Boiler-Make-It NCAA Last Chance.

The Indiana University Natatorium on the campus of IUPUI in Indianapolis is slated to host both NCAA national championship meets this season. The women's NCAA Championships is March 21-23 and the men's NCAA Championships the following week, March 28-30.

Last season the University of Iowa hosted both the men's and women's Big Ten Championships in consecutive weekends at its new natatorium. But this season the Big Ten meets will again be split up to different locations. Minnesota will host the women's Big Ten Championships Feb. 20-23. Indiana will serve as the host of the men's Big Ten Championships, Feb. 27 through March 2.

During the winter break on campus between the fall and spring semesters, the Boilermakers have made plans to travel to Florida for their winter training programs. The teams are expected to compete in one meet during their stay in the Sunshine State.

The seven-team Big Ten Quad, which annually features Purdue, Minnesota, Wisconsin and Illinois (women), moves to Madison, Wis., this year. The two-day meet is set for Feb. 1-2. The Purdue men will also compete in a two-day meet in Dallas the weekend of Jan. 18-19. Eight swimmers and one diver will represent the Boilers at the Classic at SMU.

Purdue is also scheduled to compete against Notre Dame (Nov. 2), Northwestern (Nov. 3), Michigan State (Jan. 11 men, Jan. 12 women) and Michigan (Jan. 12 men) in head-to-head dual meets. Each of those meets will be held away from West Lafayette.

The divers are scheduled to travel to Columbus the weekend of Nov. 30 through Dec. 2 to compete at the Ohio State Invitational. Selected divers will also qualify for USA Diving's Winter Nationals meet. The dates and site of that annual competition have not been announced as of yet.
