Complete 2014-15 Schedules: Men | Women
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Six home meets, including four of the co-ed variety, highlight Purdue swimming and diving's 2014-15 schedules, unveiled by head coaches Dan Ross and John Klinge.
The Boilermakers' will get their new campaigns underway the weekend of Oct. 17-18 with back-to-back home meets. The Purdue women and the men's divers will host Miami (Ohio) on Friday, Oct. 17. The men's swimmers will also race that night in an intrasquad competition. Teams from around the state will visit the Boilermaker Aquatic Center the following day for the annual Indiana Intercollegiates.
Co-ed home duals are set for Jan. 8/9/10 vs. Michigan State and Jan. 24 vs. rival Indiana. The official date of the MSU dual is still being determined, but in recent history the Boilers and Spartans have gone head-to-head on a Saturday in West Lafayette.
The Indiana-Purdue dual is a rare co-ed meet this. Only once (2012) in the last twenty years has the Indiana-Purdue dual featured co-ed action. The Boilermakers are expected to hold their senior salute ceremony on Saturday, Jan. 24 in conjunction with the Indiana dual.
The Purdue men are also slated to compete at home for a Friday, Nov. 7 dual vs. Western Kentucky. The Purdue women will host their annual Boiler-Make-It NCAA Last Chance meet on Saturday, Feb. 28.
Northwestern has replaced Wisconsin for the annual two-day Big Ten Triple Duals the final weekend of January, hosted by Minnesota this year. The men's swimmers will also compete at the University Aquatic Center on the Twin Cities campus for the Minnesota Grand Prix (Nov. 20-22). That meet will serve as the primary focus of the fall training program.
The Purdue women and all of the divers are slated to spend quite a bit of time at Ohio State's McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion during the 2014-15 season. The city of Columbus is set to be the host site of the Ohio State Invitational (Nov. 21-23), the USA Diving Winter Nationals (Dec. 16-21), the women's Big Ten Championships (Feb. 18-21) and the Zone C Diving Championships (March 12-14). The Purdue women are also scheduled to compete against the Buckeyes and Cincinnati Bearcats for a triple dual at McCorkle on Saturday, Oct. 24.
The men's Big Ten championships return to Iowa City for the second time in four years after the Hawkeyes' Campus Recreation and Wellness Center, which opened in 2011, was also picked to host the men's NCAA Championships. The Boilermaker Aquatic Center was up next in the rotation to host the 2015 men's Big Ten Championships. However, the Big Ten coaches voted a few years ago to hold the conference championship meet in the same location in the years that a Big Ten university is selected to host NCAAs.
The Boilermaker Aquatic Center is locked in to host the men's Big Ten Championships in 2016 and the women's conference championship meet in 2017.
The 2015 women's NCAA Championships meet is set to be held at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, N.C.
The Boilermakers will also compete in a co-ed road dual Saturday, Nov. 1 at Notre Dame.
