BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Highlighted by Sean Mokhtari's third-place finish, five of the six Purdue divers qualified for the platform finals on the third and final day of the Zone C Championships.

Mokhtari finished only .45 hundredths of a point behind Ohio State's Shane Miskiel (760.70-760.25) for second place. A second-place finish for Mokhtari would have earned the freshman a trip to the NCAA Championships. Since Miskiel had already qualified for NCAAs with his second-place showing on the 3-meter springboard, the seventh and final NCAA spot for the men from Zone C went to OSU's Christian Holstein, who took fourth in the 1-meter.

More spots are allotted to the highest finishers in the springboard events due in part to the greater number of Zone qualifiers in those events versus the platform.

Mokhtari moved up from fifth in the preliminaries to third in the finals thanks to a Purdue season-best score of 404.40 on his finals list.

Jamie Bissett (6th, 690.85 cumulative score), Nate Cox (11th, 614.80) and Alec Back (12th, 563.65) were also among the top 12 finals qualifiers in a group of 22 men's competitors.

Maddie Miskulin (528.10) placed ninth among the field of 21 competitors for the women, also qualifying for the finals.

IUPUI's Chen Ni and Indiana's Amy Cozad and Conor Murphy also qualified for the NCAA Championship Saturday. Ni won the women's platform and Murphy placed first in the men's competition.

All six divers that competed for the Boilers at the Zone C Championships are slated to return for the 2012-12 college season. Purdue will also welcome back Michelle Cabassol, Mary Beth Dunnichay and Casey Matthews to the active roster. All three women exercised Olympic redshirt waivers during the 2011-12 college season.
