Four Purdue Divers Reach Finals on Day Two of Zone C Championships
Alec Back placed 10th for Purdue's highest individual finish of the day.

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Two men's and two women's divers for Purdue advanced to the finals in their respective springboard events Friday, highlighting the second day of the Zone C Championships for the Boilermakers.

Among an initial field of 49 divers, Alec Back placed 10th in the 1-meter competition with a score of 632.15, posting the highest finish of the day for Purdue. His preliminary round score of 331.45 was only 1 ½ points shy of his season best.

Jamie Bissett finished one spot behind Back in 11th place. Bissett was consistent with his prelims and finals round scoring, finishing the day at 632.15.

For the women, MacKenzie Tweardy and Maddie Miskulin were both among the top 18 finals qualifiers in a 3-meter competition that featured 58 divers. Tweardy placed 15th with a cumulative score of 575.40 and Miskulin was 17th with a score of 572.40.

Nate Cox and Sean Mokhtari also competed Friday from the 1-meter springboard. Cox (276.20) placed 24th and Mokhtari (269.15) 27th in the preliminaries.

Four more divers punched their tickets to the NCAA Championships Friday: Indiana's Mick Dell'Orco and Laura Ryan, Kentucky's Greg Ferrucci and Michigan's Amanda Lohman. Two more berths for both the men and women will be available Saturday as the Zone C Championships conclude with the platform competitions for both genders. Action is set to get underway at 11 a.m.
