CHICAGO - The Purdue men's and women's swimming and diving teams have both been recognized as Scholar All-America Teams for the 2011 fall semester by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA).

Among NCAA Division I programs, the Purdue women ranked 27th nationally with a 3.40 team grade-point average during the fall 2011 semester. The Purdue men were 49th nationally with a 3.06 team GPA.

Among the Big Ten Conference, the women were third in team GPA, while the men ranked fifth.

Wednesday during men's basketball's win against Nebraska at Mackey Arena, the Purdue women were presented with the President's Cup for having the highest team GPA in the athletics department during the 2011 fall semester.

The CSCAA Team Scholar All-American awards are presented to college and university swimming and diving teams that have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. The award is presented to teams achieving this standard in the fall semester and in the semester of the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships (Winter/Spring).

Purdue swimming and diving is currently in the midst of its championship seasons. The men are currently in Iowa competing at the Big Ten Championships, while the women host an NCAA Last Chance Meet qualifier Saturday.
