PARK RIDGE, Ill. -- Tracy Glaser accounted for three of Purdue's seven individual victories at the Ohio State Winter Invite, winning Big Ten Swimmer of the Week honors for her strong showing in Columbus.
Glaser won each of her three events - the 200 breaststroke and 200 and 400 IM - at the two-day, four-session meet at OSU's McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion the weekend of Feb. 9-10. She posted personal season-best times in the 200 breast (2:19.38) and 400 IM (4:25.84) while winning the events.
Glaser joins Carly Mercer (Nov. 20) as Big Ten Swimmer of the Week honorees among the Purdue women this season. Amy Katz and Samantha Feulner (twice) are the other active Boilers who have won the weekly honor from the conference office during their careers.
Purdue has collected a Big Ten Swimmer of the Week award after the Ohio State Winter Invite each of the last three seasons. Feulner was recognized after the meet in 2011 and 2012 for her victories in the freestyle sprints.
Glaser made a successful return to the active roster this season after sitting out the 2011-12 campaign due to injury. Her times at Ohio State ranked as the fourth (400 IM) and fifth (200 breaststroke) fastest for Purdue this season.
The Boilermakers continue to train for the Big Ten Championships meet, set for Feb. 20-23 in Minneapolis.
