TSC Midseason Big Ten Awards

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - While continuing to gear up for the championship portion of the current season, head coach John Klinge, Emily Fogle and Rhiannon Sheets were the members of Purdue women's swimming highlighted among theSwimmingCircle.com's Midseason Big Ten Awards.

Klinge was recognized as the Big Ten women's coach of the semester after the Boilers established a bevy of new program top five times at the Ohio State Invitational the first weekend of December. He also led Purdue to a 4-0 dual meet record, highlighted by wins against Notre Dame and at Iowa.

Fogle and Sheets both garnered honorable mention recognition, Fogle in the breakout swimmer of the semester category and Sheets in the freshman of the semester section. Both underclassmen established a new program record at the Ohio State Invitational and were among the Boilers' top performers on relays. Freshmen were not considered for the breakout swimmer category.

Purdue begins its second-semester competition schedule Saturday, Jan. 14 with a home dual meet against Michigan State.
