WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Freshman Kara Cook placed 31st on 3-meter springboard Friday afternoon at the NCAA Division I Women's Swimming and Diving Championships. This year's championship meet is taking place at Ohio State's McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion.

Cook totaled 261.60 points through six dives in the preliminary round. The Woodlands, Texas native's best dive was her first dive, scoring 50.40 points on a 2.5 forward somersault.

Her five subsequent scores were 33.60, 46.20, 40.60, 46.25 and 44.55.

Cook and senior Katie Berg complete their NCAA stays Saturday, competing in their specialty event, the platform tower. Cook and Berg placed second and third off the McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion's platform last weekend at the NCAA Region C Zone Meet.

Cook's personal best on platform is 293.55 and Berg's is 283.30.
