Day Three Comes To A Close At 2001 NCAA Women's Swimming Championships

LONG ISLAND, N.Y. -The Purdue women's swim team finished the 2001 NCAA Women's Swimming Championships with a total of five points and tied for 40th-place with Iowa.

The Boilermakers competed in three events in the final day of competition, the 100 free, the 200 fly and the 400 free relay.

Senior Gyongyver Lakos finished 30th in the 100 freestyle with a time of 50.55 and junior Patricia Finnerty finished 27th in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:02.31.

The 400 free relay team of Lakos, Finnerty and sophomores Lindsay Lange and Lisa Dolansky, finished in 19th place with a time of 3:26.17.

The Boilermakers finished the 2001 competition tied for ninth-place of all Big Ten teams.
