2012-13: NCAA CHAMPION & All-America in 3-Meter Diving... Purdue Female Athlete of the Year... Honorable Mention All-America (1-Meter Diving)... NCAA Championships Qualifier... Second Team All-Big Ten... CSCAA Scholar All-America... Distinguished Big Ten Scholar... Academic All-Big Ten... Matthews became the first NCAA champion in the history of the Purdue women's swimming and diving program... third diver to be selected as the Purdue Female Athlete of the Year... won three of the four rounds of competition in which she competed at the NCAA Championships: the consolation final of 1-meter diving and both the preliminary and finals rounds of 3-meter diving... selected as team MVP... returned to active competition for the Boilermakers for the first time since the 2010 NCAA Championships at the Ohio State Invitational in December... missed the last two seasons due to shoulder and ankle surgeries... accounted for 30 team points at the Big Ten Championships by placing second in the championship final of 3-meter diving and sixth in the championship final of 1-meter diving... established a new school-record score (388.50) in 3-meter diving while finishing as the runner-up at Big Tens... now ranks first (3-meter), third (1-meter) and fourth (platform) in program history in the three diving events...
