2012-13: NCAA Championships Qualifier (Relays)... Academic All-Big Ten... Nichols competed primarily in the freestyle sprints... qualified for the NCAA Championships for the second time in her career, racing with the 200 and 400 freestyle relay teams at the national championship meet... season-best times in the 50 (23.23, 5th) and 100 free (50.21, 3rd) ranked among the top five on the team in 2012-13... finished her career ranked fifth in the 50 free (20.90) and 10th in the 100 free (50.21)... finished her career as part of the school-record 200 free relay team from 2011... was also part of 200 and 400 free relay teams that had the second-fastest times in program history... swam on the 200 and 400 free relay teams at the 2013 Big Ten Championships that finished third and fourth, respectively... contributed to eight relay winners as a senior... season-best time in the 100 free was at Big Tens and top mark in the 50 free was at the Purdue Invitational... also raced in the 100 fly at Big Tens and the Purdue Invite... accounted for 33 team points at the Purdue Invitational by placing sixth in the A final of the 50 free, fourth in the A final of the 100 free and fourth in the B final of the 100 fly... also swam on the victorious 200 and 400 free relay teams and anchored her 200 and 400 medley relay teams to heat wins at the Purdue Invite... won the 50 free in dual meet victories against Miami (Ohio) and Florida Atlantic.

Nichols competed primarily in the freestyle sprints... her season-best times in the 50 (22.90, 2nd) and 100 free (50.50, 5th) and 100 fly (56.20, 5th), all from the Big Ten Championships, each ranked among the top five at Purdue in 2011-12... her 50 and 100 free times rank fifth and 10th in program history... swam on Purdue's 200 and 400 free relays at the Big Ten Championships, the 200 free quartet posting the second-fastest time in program history... accounted for 2 ½ points team points by qualifying for the B final of the 50 free at Big Tens... accounted for 13 team points with her sixth place finish in the A final of the 50 free at the Ohio State Invitational... also swam on Purdue's 200 free relay winner at Ohio State... won the 50 free and swam on a freestyle relay winner in the dual meet victory versus Michigan State and Notre Dame... also won the 50 free at the Indiana Intercollegiates and Black and Gold Intrasquad meet.

Before Purdue: Four-year letterwinner...won back-to-back state titles in 50 freestyle and 100 freestyle...first state championship came in 50 freestyle as sophomore...won both titles as junior...50 freestyle swim came in state-record time...defended 100 freestyle crown with state-record time as senior...earned All-American, All-State, All-County and All-Area honors...finished second in 50 freestyle senior season...also earned four letters in track and field...won team's best sprinter award in 2007 and 2008...won school's George W. Forester Outstanding Senior Athlete Award in 2009.
