Purdue Women's Swimming Falls To Ohio State
COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The Boilermakers fell to Ohio State 161.5-136.5 as the Buckeyes captured 12 of the 16 events.
Leading Purdue was junior distance freestyler Marisa Watts, who won the 500 and 1650 free. She completed the 500-yard in 5:03.67, while touching in the mile at 17:02.13. Watts, who anchored the 800 free relay, teamed with sophomore Erika Whyte, senior Becky Ritz and Michele Labrie to win the event in 7:35.33.
Whyte won the 100 butterfly with a time of 58.13, while finishing second in the 50 free (24.10). Classmate Katie Hasbrook took home first place honors in teh 200 butterfly with a quick mark of 2:06.55.
Purdue's next competition is the Big Ten meet in Indianpolis on Feb. 20-22. The Boilermakers are hosting.
