Dec. 28, 2006

Greetings from New York!! I hope you had a wonderful holiday. It's been great in the Big Big Apple. I've seen many of my old pals and met some cool gnomes along the way. I've gotten many compliments regarding my Purdue hat; it's quite the conversation starter and many have enjoyed my Purdue stories.

I went to the Empire State Building the other day, wow, what a sight. It was super high up and I had to ask for a boost to see over the rail. The city looked awesome!

The Champs Bowl is coming up and I can't wait. I plan on watching the game with a few gnome pals, who also will be wearing the Old Gold and Black!

I chatted with head football coach Joe Tiller before I left. He and the team have been working hard getting prepared for the match up in Orlando. He asked if I wanted to join the team on the trip, but I told him about the Gnome Convention.

After talking with Coach, I've learned some neat facts:

- Purdue (8-5, 5-3 Big Ten) features the nation's sixth-ranked passing offense.

- Maryland is 8-4 overall and 5-3 in the ACC.

- Purdue is ranked 10th in total offense.

- This is the Boilermakers' 14th Bowl Appearance and ninth under Coach Tiller.

- Maryland and Purdue will be meeting for the first time in the history of the two schools.

- The game will be played at 8 p.m. EST on Dec. 29th (Friday). The game will be televised on ESPN.

Sorry to cut this short, but I'm headed out to meet some pals. Hope you can watch the game and help cheer the Boilermakers to victory over the Terrapins. Look forward to hearing back from you and please email when you can.

Go Boilers!!!

Lenny
