Howdy Folks,

This is K Milla Thrilla stepping in to fill Candace Curtis' Vans (for those of you who don't know, those are shoes). Candace is a little busy and being the nice roommate and friend that I am, I told her I would write it for her. So just a little background info about me, I am a junior middle infielder studying management here at Purdue, and I am from Nap town (Indianapolis), IN. But that stuff is boring so let's talk about the different things the team has been up to the past few weeks.

Two weeks ago we had our team scrimmages and the Oreo's (white T's and grey pants) won the first game, and the black team won the second game, granted everybody wore Oreo's the first game and black the second (bump, bump). But, everybody played very well and it was nice to see all the newcomers gelling in with the rest of the team.

For the chosen few, aka Drew's, our strength and conditioning coach, favorites, 5:45 a.m. workouts are still running strong three days a week. The rest of us get to enjoy our slumber a little longer. We have begun speed school, which is my personal favorite because of all the jumping and bungy running we get to do, however, at the moment I only get to watch which is no fun.

To give you a little update about the team challenges, there has been a drastic change in the standings. Unfortunately, my team, Intimidation, which is the best team ever, has moved from first to third place. Team Ferocity has taken the lead, with Unity behind them, then the best team ever, and finally team Synergy. Our last challenge consisted of describing and making up a drill. I am going to have to give props to the creativity of team Ferocity, and their description of a backhand. I am pretty sure the team would agree with my feelings when I say we are waiting for a Pictionary and Talent Show Challenge (Hint! Hint! Coaches). I think that these challenges will definitely showcase our true talents.

Outside of softball, we also recently had a team Halloween Party, where everybody except for the freshmen dressed up. (I guess they didn't get the memo). There were a few sweet costumes, but I think the members of R-S-T-L-N-E took the cake. For those of you who don't know, this is Candace and my band, so you should probably be checking the charts because I feel our single is going to hit #1 pretty soon! But, some of the other costumes included Uchi (Liane Horiuchi) in her gum ball machine costume, don't worry I popped a few of the balloons/gum balls. Palmer (Tara Palmer) also had a great costume dressing up as Edward Scissorhands, while Jenna dressed up as the game Operation.

The last thing that I am going to talk about is our team trip to the Haunted Fairgrounds. Unfortunately, I was not able to go because of school work, but I heard plenty of stories about the many fraidy cats. The top five fraidy cats starting with #5 were: 5.Trauger, 4. Spack, 3. Kelsey, 2. Liane, 1. Hall. But, from reports I received the team had a lot of fun!

This has been what's going down in West La La. Maybe I'll be talking to ya'll again, but until next time...

Whoop Whoop from West La La,

Miller
