WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The exterior structure of the new Purdue softball stadium is coming along and progress continues inside the venue as well.

The current focus is on finishing exterior brick and mortar work and roofing in order to prepare for interior work which will take place during the winter months. Concrete sidewalks and stairs and the first layer of asphalt for the parking lot also are expected to be completed before winter.

Electrical, plumbing and mechanical systems also are in progress which will allow interior framing and drywall work to be completed in the coming weeks.

The grass for the outfield will be laid within the next few weeks as well.

Meanwhile, the Boilermaker softball team continues to prep for the spring season with a series of fall contests, including games at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday (Oct. 4 and 5).
