Softball Readies for Fall Ball Games

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Boilermaker softball team will give fans an early look at the 2013 team with four contests in October.

On Oct. 7, the Boilermakers will play host to Butler, St. Joseph's and South Suburban College. Purdue will face St. Joseph's at 9:30 a.m. and Butler at 4:15 p.m. SSC will take on St. Joseph's at 11:45 a.m. and Butler at 2 p.m. The games will be played at the Varsity Softball Complex and are open to the public. The games will feature free substitution and a two-hour drop time to ensure the schedule remains intact.

On Oct. 14, Purdue will take on Heartland Community College in a noon doubleheader.

The Boilermaker roster features 16 returning players and six freshmen. Purdue posted a 31-22 record in 2012, including a sixth-place Big Ten finish.

The 2013 team kicks off its season in Baton Rouge, La., Feb. 8-10.
