WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Boilermaker softball fans will have plenty of chances to see the team in action this fall as head coach Kim Schuette announced an 11-game slate on Tuesday.
Purdue will open the fall season with a pair of games on Sunday, Sept. 14, facing off with Notre Dame and Evansville at Grand Park in Westfield, Ind., at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. respectively.
A pair of games with Valparaiso and Ball State awaits the Boilermakers in their fall home opener on Sunday, Sept. 21, at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. respectively. Valparaiso and Ball State will then play a 3 p.m. contest.
On Sunday, Sept. 28, the Boilermaker alumni will take the field as part of Homecoming weekend, in a 10 a.m. contest.
The Boilers will face Purdue-Calumet and Lakeland College on Saturday, Oct. 4 at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. respectively. Calumet and Lakeland will then play at 3 p.m.
On Sunday, Oct. 5, Purdue will take on IPFW and South Suburban College at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. respectively. IPFW and South Suburban will then meet in a 3 p.m. contest.
The Boilermakers wrap up their fall campaign with a three-game Gold and Black series, Oct. 17 through 19. Contests begin at 4 p.m. Friday and continue at 10 a.m. Saturday and Sunday.
The Purdue team returns 13 players from the 2014 squad, which advanced to the Big Ten tournament quarterfinals. Five newcomers round out the roster.
