WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The home softball season is just three weeks away, so it is time to start making plans to see the Boilermakers in action. Make sure you have some special dates marked down on your calendar.
Tickets will be available for free or at discounted rates for seven dates, while a handful of other games will offer promotional activities for various groups and causes.
Opening day, March 27, is Spirit Day at the Boilermaker Softball Complex. All spirit groups: band/cheer/Reamers/Goldusters/Dance Team with uniform of t-shirt showing group membership will receive free admission to the 4 p.m. game against Illinois-Chicago.
March 29, is Humane Society Day. Animal lovers who show a picture of their favorite pet will receive $1 admission to the 4 p.m. game against Ohio State.
On March 30, it is Kid's Day at the ballpark. $1 admission to the 1 p.m. game with Ohio State will be available for Boys and Girls Club, Hannah House, Big Brothers/Big Sisters attendees.
On April 5, Purdue softball will celebrate military appreciation day when the team faces off with Michigan State at 4 p.m. by offering free admission to military personnel with a military ID.
April 6 is Greek/Co-Op Day at Purdue softball. Patrons wearing their Greek letters/Co-Op shirts will receive $1 to the 1 p.m. game against Michigan State.
April 21 is Faculty/Staff Appreciation Day. All Purdue faculty and staff members will receive $1 admission to the 1 p.m. game against Nebraska.
In addition to the ticket promotions, the Boilermakers also will celebrate a few other dates during the season.
March 30 has been designated as Social Media Day at the ballpark, so come out and join us in twitter/facebook trivia contests and more as we welcome the Big Ten Network to West Lafayette for the game against Ohio State.
Purdue softball will support the Breast Cancer Awareness Cause on April 7 when the Boilers face off with Michigan State at 1 p.m. Wear pink and support the cause.
April 19 has been designated as the Black Out game. Wear black and support the Boilers as they face off with Nebraska for the first time in Big Ten play.
