Tempe, Ariz. - The Purdue softball program is about to begin its second season under head coach Boo De Oliveira with a five-game weekend at the Kajikawa Classic hosted by No. 23 Arizona State. All five matchups will take place at the Tempe Sports Complex.

The Sun Devils present the first test for the Boilermakers Friday, Feb. 9, at 4 p.m. ET. Arizona State won 31 games in 2017 and return 15 letterwinners, including three All-Pac-12 honorees. The Boilermakers wrap up opening day against San Jose State at 9:30 p.m. ET. Saturday includes contests against Western Michigan at 4:15 p.m. ET and South Dakota at 7:15 p.m. ET. Purdue finishes the weekend with Fresno State Sunday at 11 a.m. ET.

Purdue enjoyed its best finish in the Big Ten since 2014 in De Oliveria's first season leading the Boilermaker program. The Boilermakers return 14 letterwinners including All-Midwest Region and All-Big Ten selection Mallory Baker. Purdue also welcomes four transfers and seven freshmen to the roster as well.
