Fecho, Gooding Named Academic All-District

Duo is now eligible for Academic All-America honors

2016: Academic All-District 5 … Academic All-Big Ten … started all 55 games, 21 at second base, five in left field, 29 in right field … batted .250 with 20 runs, six doubles and two triples … reached base via hit, walk, hit by pitch in 41 of 55 games … put together eight-game hit streak and six-game hit streak … tallied multiple hits in eight games … drove in one game-tying RBI … scored two game-winning runs: vs. Southern Utah and Illinois … drew 11 walks and was hit by a pitch four times … boasted a .962 fielding percentage.

2015: Academic All-Big Ten ... started all 56 games at second base ... batted .237 with 20 runs, 15 RBI, five doubles and a triple, including a .271 mark in Big Ten play ... scored four game-winning runs and one game-tying effort ... drove in one game-winning RBI and one to tie a game ... drew 21 walks and was hit by a pitch three times ... laid down a team-best eight sacrifice bunts, ranking second among Big Ten players ... reached base in 37 games ... posted multiple hits in eight games, including three perfect 2-for-2 outings ... put together a four-game hit streak from April 26 to May 1 ... reached base in seven straight games April 1 to April 12 ... in Big Ten play, scored eight runs, and added three doubles and three RBI ... ranked tied for fifth in league play with three sac bunts.

2014: Academic All-Big Ten ... Saw action in 44 games, starting 23 - 18 at second base, four as the designated player and one at third base ... batted .217 with 18 hits, including three doubles and a home run ... drove in 11 RBI, including multiple RBI on three occasions ... scored six runs, including the game winner against Tennessee Tech ... put together a pair of three-game hit steaks ... tallied two multi-hit efforts with two hits each vs. #9 Florida State and Houston ... drew six walks, lifted one sacrifice fly and laid down a sacrifice bunt ... made good on lone stolen base attempt.

2013: Saw action in 30 games, starting 16 at shortstop and 10 as the designated player ... posted .232 average, including a triple vs. Texas A&M-Corpus Christi ... scored four runs ... drew five walks and was hit by a pitch twice ... put together a six-game hit streak from Feb. 23 - March 3 ... reached base in 17 of 30 games ... stole three bases.
