WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Thanks in part to technological upgrades put in place with the new pressbox on the west side of the Varsity Soccer Complex, Purdue athletics will begin offering live video webcasts of Purdue soccer action this season.

Nine of the Boilers' 11 remaining home games, including all six games of the upcoming homestand, will be available via BTN.com through the Big Ten Network's Student U initiative. BTN.com also lists five of Purdue's six conference road games as being part of the conference's video webcast schedule.

Additionally, the Big Ten Network has selected the Oct. 11 Indiana-Purdue Golden Boot rivalry game for live television coverage. The game will not be featured among the BTN.com webcast schedule but will be available live via BTN2go.com for cable subscribers that receive BTN.

To watch the live video webcasts, patrons may purchase the Purdue School Pass for a monthly charge of $9.95 or a yearly pass for $79.95. A Big Ten Digital Network Conference Pass, available for a monthly charge of $14.95 or $119.95 yearly, allows access to broadcasts of all Big Ten schools and all BTN.com broadcasts. The live video webcasts of Purdue's home games will feature three camera angles as well as live announcers. Former Boiler Lauren Varnau is on board to serve as the color commentator for the video webcasts from the Varsity Soccer Complex. The host school staffs the announcers for Big Ten road games.

Purdue athletics will also continue to offer free live audio coverage of all home games via the Stretch Internet portal through PurdueSports.com. Steve Hall continues to serve as the play-by-play voice of the Boilers on WSHY AM 1410 and the Internet audio simulcast. The Oct. 11 game at Indiana is also on the radio schedule this season.

Some of the Student U video webcasts will be aired on BTN television via tape delay a few days after the game. The dates and times of the replays will be posted on the Purdue schedule page when made available by the BTN.
