WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Britney Scott will bring championship experience to the Boilermakers when she joins the defending Big Ten Tournament champions later this year.

A native of Liberty, Missouri, Scott has won two district and state titles with St. Teresa's Academy as well as five Kansas state championships with club team KCFC Futuras.

Scott also won a state title in Missouri with St. Louis SC. Due to her proximity to the Kansas and Missouri state border, Scott has been able to play with multiple club programs over the years and even played up a year with the 1988 birthday group.

Scott is currently a senior at St. Teresa's in Kansas City, where she has started on the varsity team since her freshman year. Scott has been named first team all-state, region and district three-straight years, and was tabbed to the NSCAA/adidas All-Region V squad following her sophomore season.

St. Teresa Academy's championship run in 2006 included a 3-0 state semifinal win over St. Joseph's Academy, which was then the No. 1 team in the nation. Scott's club went to clobber Fort Zumwalt West in the title game, 4-0.

A season earlier, Scott scored two goals and provided an assist in St. Teresa's 3-0 win over previously unbeaten Nerinx Hall in a state semifinal match. She later helped her squad beat Incarnate Word Academy 2-1 in the championship match, capping an undefeated season.

"Britney is one of those players who simply has a knack for understanding the game," Purdue head coach Rob Klatte said. "She is both clever and deceptive, dangerous on the dribble and able to distribute the ball across the field. She is comfortable and confident on the ball and really is capable of playing in either a midfield or a forward role. Her talents of field awareness, game smarts and tactical astuteness will prove invaluable as we transition into the upcoming season."

A member of Top Drawer Soccer's Class of 2008 Players to Watch List, Scott has been selected to the All-KC metro first team and twice to the MO-KAN all-tournament team. The three-year honor roll student was placed on the All-KC metro second teams after her freshman and junior years.

Scott's ODP experience includes five years with the Missouri state program and four years with the Region II squad. She attended the 2004 ODP national camp in Seattle and competed in France on the Region II tour of Europe in 2005.

A four-year participant at the Boca Raton Interregional event, Scott has taken part in a pair of Region II National Development Camps, going to Houston in 2006 and Ventura, Calif., in 2008.

Scott was born in Honolulu, Hawaii and is the fourth and youngest daughter of Bryan and JoAnne Scott. Her three older sisters are Erin, Jeslyn and Bryanna. Her father played football for Wilkes University of Wilkes-Barre, Pa.
