WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA), in association with Hooters of America, Inc., have unveiled the brackets for the 2006 Hooters Collegiate Match Play Championship for Women, which will be held Nov. 3 - 5 at Eagle Creek Golf Club in Orlando, Fla. and will be co-hosted by the Central Florida Sports Commission.

The Purdue women's golf team, the 2005 Match Play Champion, will arrive back in central Florida to defend the title as the eighth seed. Invitations to the Match Play were based on the 2006 national championship finish and seeds were determined based on fall 2006 results through October 17.

The Boilermakers are currently ranked 18th in the Golfweek/Sagarin poll. They have competed in two tournaments this fall, finishing fifth in the Mason Rudolph Invitational and 14th in the NCAA Preview in Daytona Beach.

The University of Georgia was named the top seed while Duke, the 2003 and 2004 Match Play Champion, was placed as the second seed. Georgia will face No. 16 seed Nebraska. The winner of this match faces the winner of Purdue and ninth-seeded Arkansas. To round out the top half of the bracket, fourth-seeded Vanderbilt faces No. 13 SMU and fifth-seeded Wake Forest tees of against No. 12 LSU.

In-state rivals No. 3 Auburn will match up against No. 14 Alabama and will advance to face the winner between sixth-seeded Arizona and No. 11 Michigan State. Second-seed Duke competes against No. 15 South Carolina and seventh-seeded Florida State squares off with rival No. 10 Florida.
