CHICAGO, Ill. - Purdue junior Aurora Kan was named the Big Ten Women's Golfer of the Week on Wednesday after winning the Butler Fall Invitational on Monday and Tuesday. Kan's first career weekly conference honor comes in the wake of her first collegiate tournament victory and the Boilermakers' first team tournament title of the season.

Kan collects the conference honor after firing matching rounds of 71 (+1) at the 6,016-yard, par 70 Highland Country Club in Indianapolis to start the week. She took medalist honors at the two-day event by three strokes, edging sophomore teammate Brooke Beegle, who posted a career-best 71 to start the tournament. The Boilermakers' team victory is their first since winning last year's Big Ten Championships, while Kan's weekly honor is the first for Purdue since former Boilermaker Laura Gonzalez-Escallon won the award after winning the Lady Buckeye Invitational last spring.

Purdue returns to action on Saturday in Indianapolis at the IU Fall Invitational.
