The Purdue women's golf team is ranked third in the Preseason Golf World/NGCA Coaches' Poll. The Boilermakers return all six golfers from the 2010 NCAA championship team and have added two freshmen to the roster.
Southern California has been tabbed as the top-ranked team. The Trojans finished second to Purdue at last year's national championship. UCLA is named the second-ranked team, Alabama is ranked No. 4 and Duke has been selected as the fifth-ranked team.
Purdue did received the most first-place votes with 11. Southern Cal and UCLA had nine first-place tallies each.

The Boilermakers begin the season Sept. 13 to 15 at the Fall Preview in Bryan, Texas, site of the 2011 NCAA Championships. The tournament, as well as the 2011 NCAA Championships will be held at Texas A&M's Traditions Golf Club which is a par-72 venue that will be playing 6,271-yards for the Preview.
