DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -
The No. 11 Purdue women's golf team has advanced to the NCAA Championships for the eighth straight year after finishing tied for fifth at the East Regional in Baton Rouge, La. This year's championships are held at the LPGA International Legends Course in Daytona Beach, Fla. and are co-hosted by the Central Florida Sports Commission and Central Florida University.
Twenty-four teams from aross the nation, as well as six individual qualifiers, gather at the home of the LPGA on May 22 to 25. The Legends Course is a par-72, 6,351 yard course which annually hosts the tour's Qualifying School. Four rounds of golf will determine the national champion. Purdue finished ninth in last year's championships, tying its highest finish in school history. For the complete championship field click here.
Boeljon is ranked No. 30 and joined Hernandez, Eikenaar and Endstrasser on the on the All-Big Ten first team. Boeljon finished second at the Big Ten Championships, leading the Boilermakers to a second-place finish.
Eikenaar has been a solid performer all season for Purdue. She has competed in every tournament this year, averaging 75.8 strokes per round. Endstrasser joined the Boilermakers in the spring semester and earned Big Ten Freshman of the Year honors. She finished 10th at the Big Ten Championships. Oukeo was the low golfer for Purdue in regional competition, finishing tied for 13th with a three-round total of 214 (-2).
