WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Purdue women’s golf squad resumes its spring season on Friday at the 3M Jaguar Intercollegiate, hosted by Georgia Regents University- Augusta at Forest Hills Golf Club. It marks the fourth straight year the Boilermakers have competed in the event, winning the tournament in 2011 and 2013, and finishing third in 2012.

Their last time out the Boilermakers tied for sixth place at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic, rebounding from a tough opening day to finish in the top half of the field. Junior Aurora Kan played the best tournament of her career, tying for medalist honors with a 54-hole score of 211 (-5), including a career-best round of 68 on the second day. Sophomore newcomer Anna Appert Lund had a solid opening tournament as a Boilermaker, logging a score of 227, and was matched by Purdue freshman August Kim, who’s 227 was a career-best 54-hole effort.

“We got the spring off to a solid start, and now it’s time to go take the next step,” said Purdue head coach Devon Brouse. “We were very happy with the way Aurora got things going, and we’re excited about the ability and energy that Anna has brought to the team.”

Established in 1926, Forest Hills Golf Club is a public course and serves as the home for the GRU-Augusta men’s and women’s golf teams. The course is a par-72, 6,214-yard venue and has played host to the event each of the last three years the Boilermakers have attended. This year’s field features 14 teams, including the host Jaguars, which placed second at this season’s Lady Puerto Rico Classic. Other teams playing this weekend are  No. 14 Vanderbilt, Boston College, Campbell, Chattanooga, Coastal Carolina, East Tennessee State, Illinois, Kansas, Lamar, Mercer, Southern Mississippi and Troy.
