Women's Golf In Second Place at Lady Kat Invitational

LEXINGTON, Ky. -- Colleen Cashman and the Purdue Boilermakers Women's Golf team are in a second place tie after one round of the Lady Kat Invitational hosted by the University of Kentucky. Cashman, a senior, fired a one-under par 71 which put her in second place in the individual standings, two strokes behind Kasey Gant of Michigan St. The 18-team field is led by Michigan St. who shot a 12-over par 300 as a team followed by Purdue and Notre Dame, who are at 302. Purdue also had two other golfers in the top 20 as Angela Blythe and Johanna Gollings both shot a four-over par 76, putting them in 17th. Second round play begins Saturday morning and the tournament concludes Sunday.
