INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Purdue women's golf team finished fifth at the IU Fall Invitational on Sunday, hosted by the Hoosiers at Hickory Stick Golf. Junior Aurora Kan and sophomore Vinh-Hoa Ngo were the top finishers for the Boilermakers, tying for 14th individually, while the team finished at 892 (+40).
After Saturday's hot start, the Boilermakers were unable to carry the momentum in the second and third rounds, finishing 10-over par in the second (294) and 21-over par (305) in the third and final round. Junior Johanna Tillström highlighted round two for the Old Gold and Black, posting a one-under round of 70, while Kan was just two shots back at 72. Nobody really got things going for the Boilermakers in Sunday's final round as they were able to make just five birdies for the afternoon and Kan brought home the best score at three-over 74.
Kan and Ngo finished eight-over for the tournament at 221, while Tillström was three shots back at 224, good for 24th. Sophomore Brooke Beegle tied for 34th place with a 15-over score of 228, and freshman August Kim rounded out the Boilermaker entries, tying for 69th place at 235 (+22).
