FRANKLIN, Ind. - The Purdue women's golf team is in seventh place after 36 holes in the Shootout at the Legends tournament in Franklin, Ind. Wisconsin leads the two-day event which features 19 schools and is being hosted by Indiana.
The Boilermakers fired a 602 and were led by junior and defending champion Kari Damron who carded a team-low 144 and is currently tied for fourth place individually. Sophomore Beth Hermes and junior Heather Zielinski fired a pair of 150's. Seniors Christy Rittenhouse and Caroline Laurens carded a 159 and 160 respectively.
Purdue shot a 297 after the first 18 holes and stood tied for seventh. They followed it up with a 305 during the afternoon session to finish the day in seventh place outright.
The final 18-hole round will begin on Tuesday morning at 8 a.m.
