The Purdue women's golf team finished fifth in the 2005 Lady Buckeye Invitational on Sunday. The Boilermakers totaled 914 strokes over the two days.

Purdue fired a final-round 305. The Boilermakers were in sixth place after the first two rounds on Saturday. Michigan State won the event with a total of 886. Ohio State placed second with a total of 895 strokes.

Two Boilermakers finished in the top 15 overall.

Sophomore Myrte Eikenaar finished in fifth place individually with a total of 222 strokes. She fired a final-round 74. She carded a 71 in the second round on Saturday.

Junior Onnarin Sattayabanphot tied for 13th overall. She had a 78 on Sunday and totaled 227 over the three rounds.

Freshman Whitney Frykman finished in 28th place. She posted a 78 on Sunday and totaled 232 strokes. Sophomore Caroline Haase tied for 31st after a total of 234. Her 75 on Sunday, was the second lowest score final-round score for Purdue.

Freshman Kara Eschbach tied for 62nd after totaling 246 and freshman Casey North tied for 82nd after 254 strokes on the weekend.

The event was hosted by Ohio State and held at the OSU Scarlet Course in Columbus. The course is a par 72, 6,201-yard layout.

The Boilermakers are in action again from April 22 to 24 in the Big Ten Championships in Ann Arbor, Mich.
