The Purdue women's golf team is tied for seventh place after the first round of the Betsy Rawls Invitational, in Austin, Texas. The event is being hosted by the University of Texas.
The Boilermakers fired a first-round 321 and are tied with California and Oklahoma. Texas leads the event after a first-round 309.
Senior Beth Hermes carded a first-round 75 and is tied for fourth. Senior Ella Asbun is tied for 31st after an 81.
Sophomore Onnarin Sattayabanphot recorded an 82 and is tied for 39th. Freshmen Myrte Eikenaar and Caroline Haase are tied for 49th and 92nd. Eikenaar fired and 83, and Haase shot a 95.
The tournament is being played on the 6,247-yard, par-72, Hills Country Club in Austin, Texas.
