AUGUSTA, Ga. - The Purdue women's golf team turned in the lowest round of the second day of competition at the 3M Augusta Invitational on Saturday, shooting two-over par, 290, and climbing to second place at Forest Hills Golf Club. Sophomore Micaela Farah made a strong, late surge for the second straight day, shooting a team-low, two-under par, 70, and sitting tied for third in the individual standings at three-under par.

After making the turn at one-over par Farah was outstanding down the stretch, sinking birdies on three of her last five holes and pulling to within two shots of the individual lead after 36 holes. She made birdie on No. 15 and No. 18 for the second straight day as she birdied four of the last six Friday.

Senior Marta Martin recovered from a tough first round to shoot even par for the Boilermakers' No. 2 score Saturday. She turned in birdies on No. 3 and No. 13 to even out her card, while dropping 14 pars on the day. Junior Ida Ayu Indira Melati Putri and freshman Inez Wanamarta notched the No. 3 and No. 4 scores on Purdue's team card with matching totals of two-over par, 74. Wanamarta had four birdies, while Putri made two Saturday.

Georgia still holds an 11-stroke edge on the Boilermakers going into the final round, thriving from their seven-under par, first-round score Friday. Jillian Hollis gave a stroke back Saturday, shooting one-over par, but maintains the individual lead at five-under par.

The final round of play will begin Sunday at 9 a.m. ET as the Boilermakers will walk the final 18 holes with Georgia and Augusta.
