Women's Golf Ties for Eighth at Lady Jaguar Intercollegiate
Tillström was one of four Boilermakers to post their best 18-holes in the final round of the tournament.

AUGUSTA, Ga. - The Purdue women's golf team played 36 holes on Saturday, wrapping up the Georgia Regents University-Augusta 3M Lady Jaguar Intercollegiate on Saturday in eighth place. After a tough score of 321 yesterday, the Boilermakers bounced back with rounds of 309 and 300 to climb up two spots in the final standings.

Purdue was just one stroke shy of a tie for seventh place with Big Ten rival Illinois, while Vanderbilt took the team title with a score of 299-302-295=896. Mercer's Lacey Fears was the individual medalist shooting 73-70-74=217. Junior Aurora Kan was the Boilermakers top player for the tournament, tying for 17th individually at 77-75-77=225 (+13).

Kan paced the second round of the tournament, posting a three-over, 75, while sophomore Anna Appert Lund, junior Johanna Tillström and freshman August Kim all came in under 80 to form the team score. Appert Lund improved by three strokes from her first-round total, while Tillström knocked four strokes off her score and Kim trimmed five.

Appert Lund, Tillström and Kim continued their improvements on the third and final round, while sophomore Vinh-Hoa Ngo joined them to post a tournament-best round of 300 for the Boilermakers. Appert Lund notched a two-over round of 74, while Kim and Tillström posted three-over 75's and Ngo was four-over at 76.

The Boilermakers resume tournament action next weekend, heading to Baton Rouge, La., for the LSU Tiger Classic hosted by the Tigers at the University Club on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, March 21-23.
