Boilers in Fourth at Hawkeye Invitational
IOWA CITY, Iowa - The Purdue women's golf team is in fourth place after the first two rounds of Iowa's Hawkeye Invitational. The Boilers totaled a 36-hole score of 626. Ohio State leads the field of eight Big 10 teams with a 606, followed by Indiana and Iowa, both with 623.
Stacy Orschell, a freshman for the Boilers, shot a 145, putting her in a tie for sixth. She trails the Buckeyes' Jessica Luciuk, the leader, by eight strokes heading into the final round tomorrow (April 20).
Colleen Cashman also finished the first day in the top 10. The junior is tied for ninth with a 156. Close behind is sophomore teammate Angie Blythe. With a 157, Blythe is tied for 12th in the field of 50. Freshman Kelly Beth Simmons tied for 22nd with a 160. Junior Heather Hasselberg and sophomore Johanna Gollings are tied for 32nd and 42nd, respectively.
