Women's Golf Team in Third Place after Day One

Action concludes tomorrow.

Led by senior Colleen Cashman and junior Angie Blythe, the Purdue women's golf team is in third place out of 17 teams at the Peggy Kirk Bell Invitational in Orlando, Fla.

Cashman and Blythe both fired a five-over par 77 in yesterday's first round to put them in a tie for sixth place. Melissa Kroll of Florida International leads the individual standings after she fired an even-par 72. In the team standings, Campbell has the lead with a total score of 306, followed by Indiana (313), Purdue (317), Penn State (318) and Miami (320).

Sophomore Stacy Orschell is tied for 25th after the first day of action. Fellow sophomore Kelly Beth Simmons shot a first round score of 95. Action concludes tomorrow.
