WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - For the second-straight week, Purdue point guard Courtney Moses has been named Big Ten Freshman of the Week, the league office announced on Monday. It is Moses' third weekly honor after being recognized alone on Nov. 15 and as co-Freshman of the Week on Dec. 20.
The Sweetser, Ind., native averaged 13 points and five assists to help Purdue to a pair of wins last week. Against Southern Illinois, the freshman recorded game highs of 18 points and six assists, chipping in two steals, in the Boilermakers' 75-36 victory. In a road win against Gardner-Webb, Moses totaled eight points with four assists, three rebounds and a steal.
As a senior at Oak Hill H.S., Moses led the state in scoring with an average of 31.7 points per game. She also averaged five rebounds, five assists and five steals. Moses was both the Indiana Gatorade Player of the Year and Miss Basketball, and is the eighth Indiana Miss Basketball to play at Purdue.
Moses' last Big Ten Freshman of the Week honor was Dec. 20.
