Miami (Ohio) Recap / Central Michigan Postgame Notes / B1G Release

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Purdue sophomore Ae’Rianna Harris became the second Big Ten Conference women’s basketball weekly honoree in as many tries Monday, earning co-player of the week after her first two double-doubles in a pair of Boilermaker wins. She hit new career-high marks in nearly every category, and shot 72 percent from the field to lead Purdue to a 3-0 start on the season.

Harris kicked off the week with a career-high 22 points, 11 rebounds and three blocks in a 75-66 win over Miami University, hitting on 10-of-14 from the field. She backed up that performance with 18 points, matched a career-high 14 rebounds, dished a career-most four assists and blocked a career-best seven shots in a 79-64 win over Lamar. The seven blocks is tied for fourth-most in a single game in Purdue history.

Harris shares the weekly honors with Minnesota junior point guard Kenisha Bell, who led the Golden Gophers to a pair of wins last week as well. Minnesota also earned Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors as rookie Destiny Pitts took home the award.

Purdue is back in action tonight, playing at the University of Utah with a 7 p.m. MT start at the Huntsman Center. The game will air live on the Pac-12 Network.
